<p>The incumbent of this position is responsible for managing ongoing operations of development programs and/or resource development activities at a total program level of an average of $5+ million. As the Manager of Development, the incumbent coordinates and integrates operational efforts in all areas that affect fundraising in support of the overall fundraising program.</p>
<p>Responsible for managing much of the liaison with other development and alumni engagement portfolio units and units within the Faculty, including Finance and Faculty Affairs; the strategy for donor stewardship and recognition; the planning and reporting. Will work directly with senior university administration and manage complex relationships with multi-unit stakeholders.</p>

<p>Responsible for managing the Office of the Vice President, Development and Alumni Engagement.  Primary contact for the Office of the Vice President, liaising with the University community, various levels within outside organizations on behalf of the Vice President&#8217;s Office, and fostering effective working relationships with the diverse reporting units within the portfolio of the Vice President.</p>
<p>Reports to the Vice President DAE; receives direction from the Director, Office of the Vice President, Development and Alumni Engagement.  Liaises with the VP&#8217;s offices and the Office of the President, the Executive Assistants of the AVPs within the Development and Alumni Engagement Portfolio, as well as university departments, external agencies, and others as required.</p>

<p>To participate in strategic development, training and management of project plans through all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle for the Development and Alumni Engagement System (Links). Analyzes, designs and implements information systems that relate to fundraising activities and are capable of interfacing to the general campus-wide systems such as Links and systems internal to Development Fund units both centrally (Research, Records, IT, Strategic Planning and Stewardship, Awards/Gift and Estate Planning, Leadership, Prospect Coordination, UBC Fund), Campus Wide (12 Faculty Based units) and Alumni Affairs. This position works closely with Development Office in Vancouver, Hong Kong and with UBC Okanagan.</p>

<p>This fundraiser position is responsible for generating strategic prospect contact at the major gift level. The Associate Director is responsible for managing a defined development program at an average $1.5+ million level, or resource development activity at an average $1+ million annually. Responsible for managing a minimum of 75-150 prospects, making 20-25 solicitations and raising a minimum average of $1+ M annually.</p>
<p>The Associate Director works in partnerships with senior management to facilitate maximum private and public sector support; develops and implements comprehensive and complex plans for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects and donors and develops and manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and meets potential prospects on a one-on one basis. The position will ensure appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship programs are in place and oversees the generation of donor/prospect solicitation materials and correspondence, and will have some administrative responsibilities.</p>

You are a conduit for donors and university staff, and support senior development staff in development and implementation of comprehensive plans for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and donors.</p>
<p>Ideally you have three plus years of fundraising experience, with a University degree in an applicable discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. You will also have exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong organizational and analytical abilities. You possess the ability to exercise tact and discretion and to communicate effectively and appropriately with donors, university staff and the external community.</p>
