Support UBC’s Arts Co-op Program

The UBC Arts Co-op Program gives undergraduate Arts students, as well as graduate students in the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies, opportunities to gain work experience with a diversity of community partners and sectors.

The Faculty of Arts is currently matching all donations to the Arts Co-op Program. This year marks 10 years since the first alum of the Arts Co-op Program graduated.

Your gift will support student-centred activities in the Arts Co-op Program, including our Student of the Year awards, travel bursaries and special infrastructure projects.

Please make a donation so that current and future students can continue to benefit from the co-op experience.

Why Alumni Donate to Arts Co-op

“I’m making a commitment to build and strengthen a program that helps hundreds of students each year grow professionally in a safe and supportive environment. By giving financially I’m helping to further excellence.”

Christiane McInnes: BA Fine Arts/Art History 2008; Special Giving Officer, Union Gospel Mission

“My relationship with the Arts co-op program didn’t end upon graduation from UBC. It’s a community and a movement that I’ve found very rewarding to support in a professional and personal capacity and I look forward to continuing my connection with the program’s current, future and past students.”

Duncan Wright: BA (Asian Studies), 2008; Second Secretary and Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Canada, Tokyo Japan

“Through UBC’s Arts Cooperative Education Program, I had the amazing opportunity to acquire, within 16 short months, a diverse range of professional skills and experiences that have led me to appreciate the unlimited possibilities offered in an Arts education. As a mentor and former Executive Coordinator of the Arts Co-op Students’ Association, I am proud to continue my support of the Arts Co-op Program as an alumni donor to enable more UBC Arts students to pursue similar opportunities to realize and unlock the hidden potential of their arts degree.”

Jim Wu: BA (Hons) History with International Relations, 2009; Adjudication Officer, Department of Human Resources Skills Development Canada

“I donate to the Co-op Program because I know first-hand how effective it is in allowing students to link their studies with real world, and often life changing, career experiences. It’s a program that I strongly believe in and am happy to contribute to.”

Greg Eidsness: BA Political Science 07; Manager, International Partnerships, BC Government

“It was through the co-op program that I felt the greatest sense of community during my undergraduate degree. I stay involved with the co-op program as a mentor, advisory committee member and alumni network organizer to continue to build this community for both current students and graduates.”

Mike McGreer: Political Science Major 2008; City of Surrey – City Manager’s Office, Economic Development Analyst
