Hospice for palliative care training

Ground will soon be broken for a free-standing, 12 bed hospice at UBC that will augment the palliative care training program in the Faculty of Medicine. Supported by a leadership gift from the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, the hospice will offer patients and their families a full range of medical care, social services, spiritual and bereavement support. UBC currently delivers the most comprehensive palliative care training program in Canada. With the new hospice and an expanded research and education program, the university aims to set a new standard for palliative care across North America.
