Faculty of Forestry
Founded in the 1940s, the Loon Lake Research and Education Centre at UBC’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest has provided forestry and environmental education and recreation opportunities for generations of students, alumni, researchers and community groups. The facility is also home to an annual camp for children that have been affected by cancer. This year the Haney Rotary Club has committed $100,000 for upgrades to the playing field and associated structures at Loon Lake, enhancing the facilities available for camp participants and others.
