Centre for Sustainability and Social Innovation

The new Centre for Sustainability and Social Innovation (CSSI) will enable graduate students in the Sauder School of Business to research business solutions for a sustainable and equitable future. Made possible in part by founding support from the Lalji and Swift families, the CSSI provides an educational and professional platform for the next wave of Canadian business leaders. Planned initiatives include new undergraduate and graduate programs; student internships; solution-oriented research; and work with strategic partners in Canada and internationally.

“By applying UBC research and learning to business challenges in the area of sustainability, the centre will be an incubator for market-ready green solutions.” – James Tansey, CSSI Executive Director and Associate Professor, Sauder School of Business.
