Youth Summer Camp

CampOUT

CampOUT!

CampOUT! is an outdoor summer leadership camp run by UBC, for queer, trans, two-spirit, questioning, and allied youth from across BC. Its goal is to create a camping experience that fosters practical social, educational, health, and leadership skills in an inspiring and welcoming space. Led by an advisory council of youth and community leaders, it attracts youth between the ages of 14-21 from all over BC, often from areas with no specific outreach or resources for queer youth.

At the camp, the youth participate in a range of activities, including arts and media, dance and performance, interactive workshops and group discussions, as well as other camp activities. They also have the chance to access social, health and educational resources. Through their participation at the camp, youth build community, make friends and develop resiliency and leadership skills that they take back with them to their home communities.

Your gift will be used to run the camp and to provide bursaries so that participants from all over the province can attend regardless of financial means. With your help, we can ensure that participants who want to attend are not prevented from doing so due to financial constraints.

The 2011 camp will run from July 5-8, 2011. Please make a donation to support the youth who attend.
